A holiday in the mountains is a great way to unwind and relax with friends and family. Nestling in the heights of the Tarentaise valley, Courchevel offers a unique setting for an unforgettable skiing holiday.

Torch-lit descents, tobogganing, races, must-see panoramas: esf Courchevel 1850 instructor Robin Mazzega shares his recommendations with you.

Let one of our instructors be your guide!

Robin is a native of Courchevel. After a Ski Études education, he took a specific training course to become an instructor. He started in 2010, while studying business and working for the Paris Saint-Germain football club

After nearly 9 years at this pace, the call of the mountains became too strong and Robin decided to don the famous red outfit full-time.

Competition, off-piste, ski touring... Robin loves skiing in all its forms and also snowboarding when he gets the chance. While he also has children on his panel of apprentice skiers, the majority of his pupils are adults. ‘Whatever their profile, I appreciate that the students are there of their own free will, with their motivation and good humour, in a good learning spirit".

Discover the resort from a different angle

As well as the ski lessons and other winter sports courses provided by the esf, there are a number of other activities to make the most of your stay in Courchevel, particularly at the beginning or end of the day when the crowds are thinning out.

At nightfall, the traditional torchlight descent offers a breathtaking show during which time stands still. And just before, have fun on the toboggan run between Courchevel 1850 and Courchevel 1550; a friendly setting that guests can share with their children on excellent quality snow

Sports enthusiasts can also enjoy the Millet Ski Touring race, held every Wednesday and open to all. At the end of the season, there's a costume party and a concert to celebrate.

Looking for a break from skiing? The Aquamotion welcomes you with a play area for children, a static surf wave to keep you going and a spa to relax in. The highlight of the show: outdoor hot water pools with a view of the Aiguille du Fruit.

Exceptional spots to admire around Courchevel

Robin's favourite moment is ‘ski touring in the morning or evening, when the mountain is ours’. In compliance with safety rules, of course!

The Col de la Loze, Moriond in Courchevel 1650 and Méribel Mottaret are among his favourite spots at sunset. A keen sportsman (surfing, cycling, running, football and volleyball with friends), it's outdoors that the instructor thrives.

At the end of winter, when the days are longer, Robin recommends a walk or snowshoe outing near Lac de la Rosière. By taking lessons from our instructors, you can benefit from special advice to make your holiday even more magical!
