In Courchevel 1850, the excitement is starting to build in the ski resort as the new season gets underway in just over a month's time. As for the esf, it's getting ready to welcome inquisitive skiers and snowboarders from all over the world, as it does every year.
Considered to be the biggest ski school in the world, esf Courchevel 1850 is now celebrating its success through the voice of a famous business magazine, as our esf director launches the season with Forbes!

esf Courchevel 1850: the history of a major ski school
esf Courchevel 1850 has been helping children, teenagers and adults to learn to ski for over 75 years, since the school was founded in 1947. Part of the world's largest ski area - the 3 Valleys - alongside Val Thorens and Méribel, Courchevel 1850 is an ideal playground for winter sports.
Today, the esf Courchevel 1850 works in collaboration with all the economic actors in the resort to ensure quality lessons, but also to diversify its offer and create tailor-made events throughout the winter.
As Jérémy Drouet, the school's Managing Director, points out, ‘We've always been pioneers in our field’, and this is reflected in the constant enrichment of the activities on offer in the resort.

The esf Courchevel 1850 offers an extremely wide range of group and private lessons for children and adults. From skiing to snowboarding to snowshoeing, there's something for everyone.
To take things a step further, the world's largest ski school is also working with Courchevel Aventure to develop a range of fun activities in parallel. Today, these include dog sledding, snowmobiling and ice diving.
The esf Courchevel 1850 really does cater for all generations, as the children's village nursery accepts little adventurers from as young as 18 months, while adults can book a package perfectly suited to their needs (beginner, intermediate, expert).

Les Pulls Rouges: the esf family of instructors
As Jean-Hugues Poirel, esf Technical Director reminds us ‘(...) you can have a grandfather who wears a red sweater, a son, a grandson, you don't feel isolated’. In fact, the Pulls Rouges are one big family, as it's not uncommon for a passion for snow sports to be passed down from generation to generation.
If the esf Courchevel 1850 is now the largest ski school in the world, it's also because more than 500 instructors share their expertise at the heart of the resort.

Before they can join this family, the trainee Pulls Rouges ski instructors have to follow a complex curriculum in order to obtain a state diploma and a professional card. The ski school is itself an accredited training centre, enabling many of its students to become ski instructors.
In total, more than 10 languages are spoken by the instructors at esf Courchevel 1850, helping to meet the high demand from all over the world. English, Russian, Portuguese, Spanish... Everyone can benefit from an esf course in Courchevel!
