‘Winter means beauty, joie de vivre and new sensations’
Working as a ski instructor within the ESF, Claude has been teaching her passion for 27 years now!
Claude Chevassu comes from Saint Bon and speaks both English and Russian. She is specialised in cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter and works as a mountain guide in summer. Driven by her love for skiing and for mountains, but also by the spirit of conviviality she conveys in her lessons, she has been teaching for 27 years now.
During her courses, she especially focuses on understanding her customers’ expectations in order to give them clear and accurate answers. Although she already instructed in Pontrésina, Switzerland- where she enjoyed the quality of snow- she also likes teaching within the ESF, which for her is synonymous with conscientiousness, and transmits the real values of the mountain.
Cross-country skiing outings and hiking days are Claude’s best teaching memories. She also likes reminding Courchevel as the resort of her childhood, the very place she first experienced skiing when she was four. La Saulire and the cross-country skiing slope between Courchevel and Méribel became her favourite spots!
Whenever skiing, Claude Chevassu enjoys the environment, that is to say, the air quality, the beauty of the landscapes and the pleasure of sliding. Her passion for cross-country skiing led her to competitions from the age of nine and when she was 14, she was awarded France Champion.
Very athletic, Claude practices road and mountain cycling. She also likes golfing and swimming. Concurrently to all these activities, Clause also appreciates the theatre, cinema and travels. By a matter of fact, she spent three years in Lillehammer, Norway, in order to fully enjoy the northern atmosphere of the country. The slopes she discovered there are for her part of the five most beautiful in the world, along with Les Saisies in Cristal skiing area, the cross-country skiing slopes in Bessans (Maurienne), Vasaloppet ski course (Sweden) and the skiing area of Savoie.
